[S3E17] The Team
She's going to be threatening her own team, working closely with Hive (a desperate attempt to recapture the love of Skyeward fans, because Chloe and Brett have amazing chemistry), and basically ruined her relationship with Lincoln.
[S3E17] The Team
Soak up the shining sun as the Bravo Team sets out on a life-changing mission. A sense of excitement and rapture spills in every scene of 'SEAL Team' as a new chapter begins for the Bravo Team. Led by Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz), the team begins their deployment in Afghanistan during peace negotiations.
The journey marks a fresh start. The team arrives at Camp Larkin, Lisa Davis (Toni Trucks), Mandy Ellis (Jessica Paré) and Eric Blackburn (Judd Lormand) talk about restlessness. For three weeks, they have had nothing to do.
As the episode comes to a close, Jason and Mandy have a conversation about how his team is a mess. While Ray is worried about home, Clay has already left his side. Mandy asks him about his relationship with Natalie Pierce (Emily Swallow) and he says how Bravo is his priority.
Mandy says, "You are convincing yourself that Bravo is under threat to justify your decisions." He has simply made the team his life and it will not end well for him. When Clay bids goodbye to the team, Jason doesn't say a word.
Will Jason be able to clear his head and stay sane without Clay and Ray's support? Directed by Max Thieriot and written by Matt Bosack and Mark H Semos, the episode brings an explosive wave to create tension among the Bravo Team. Only time will tell if the team can stick together as Bravo Fam again.
"Homer at the Bat" is the seventeenth episode of the third season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on February 20, 1992. The episode follows the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team, led by Homer, having a winning season and making the championship game. Mr. Burns makes a large bet that the team will win and brings in nine ringers from the "big leagues" to ensure his success.
Workers at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant are reluctant to join the plant's softball team due to its previous unsuccessful year. When Homer mentions he has a secret weapon, his co-workers eagerly join the team. His secret weapon is "Wonder Bat", a lucky bat he made from a fallen tree branch struck by lightning. They enjoy an undefeated season and earn a spot in the championship game against the Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant.
Mr. Burns makes a million-dollar bet with Aristotle Amadopolis, owner of the Shelbyville plant, that his team will win. To ensure victory, Burns hires nine Major League Baseball players and gives them token jobs at the plant so they can play on the team, much to the dismay of the plant's team. Burns hires a hypnotist to boost his team's chances of winning. Homer is distraught when his Wonder Bat is destroyed by a pitch from Clemens during practice.
Before the game, seven of the nine all-star players suffer from bizarre mishaps that leave them unable to play: Ozzie Smith disappears at the Springfield Mystery Spot, Roger Clemens gets hypnotized to act like a chicken, Mike Scioscia is hospitalized due to radiation poisoning he got from working at the plant, José Canseco is caught up rescuing a woman's possessions from a house fire, Ken Griffey Jr. develops gigantism after overdosing on brain and nerve tonic that Burns administered to the team, Steve Sax is arrested by the Springfield Police when they suspect him of committing every unsolved murder in New York City, and Wade Boggs is beaten up by Barney at Moe's Tavern after an argument over who was the greatest British Prime Minister. Don Mattingly is able to make it to the game, but Burns kicks him off the team for failing to shave off his non-existent sideburns. As he's leaving Mattingly privately admits that he prefers Burns over George Steinbrenner. Homer is benched while Darryl Strawberry plays his position.
With the score tied and bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Burns pinch hits Homer for Strawberry, noting that fielding a right-handed hitter against a left-handed pitcher will serve to their advantage. Distracted by Burns' exaggerated gesturing, Homer is hit in the head by the first pitch, knocking him out and forcing in the winning run. The team wins the title and Homer, still unconscious, is paraded as a hero.
Ken Griffey Jr. became frustrated while recording his line "there's a party in my mouth and everyone's invited" because he had trouble understanding it. He was directed by Mike Reiss, and his father Ken Griffey Sr. was also present, trying to coach his son.[7] Roger Clemens, who made his own chicken noises, was directed by Jeff Martin, as was Wade Boggs.[6] Mike Reiss directed most of the other players.[7] Mike Scioscia accepted his guest spot in "half a second," while Ozzie Smith has said he would like to guest star again "so [he] can get out [of the Springfield Mystery spot]".[13] Don Mattingly, who was forced to shave off his "sideburns" by Mr. Burns during the episode, would later have an actual "haircut controversy", while he was playing for the New York Yankees. The coaching staff forced him to cut his long hair, and he was briefly dropped from the team line-up for not doing so. Many people believed the joke in the episode to be a reference to the incident, but "Homer at the Bat" was recorded a year before it happened.[11][13] Many of the guest stars, including Terry Cashman, Wade Boggs and Darryl Strawberry all admit they are more well known because of their appearance in the episode, especially outside the United States, Cashman having "Talkin' Softball" requested more often than "Talkin' Baseball".[13]
The episode's title is a reference to Ernest Thayer's 1888 baseball poem "Casey at the Bat".[15] The episode makes several allusions to the film The Natural. Homer's secret weapon, his self-created "Wonderbat", is akin to Roy Hobbs's "Wonderboy", and both bats are eventually destroyed. The scene featuring the explosion of stadium lights as Homer circles the basepaths is also taken directly from the film.[1][2] The end song "Talkin' Softball" is a parody of "Talkin' Baseball" by Terry Cashman. Jeff Martin wrote the new version of the song, but Cashman was brought in to sing it.[6] The scenes of the Power Plant team traveling from city to city by train, overlaid with the pennant of the city they are going to, is a reference to the 1942 film The Pride of the Yankees.[16] Carl batting with a piano leg is a reference to Norm Cash of the Detroit Tigers, who once tried to bat with a table leg in a game where Nolan Ryan was extremely overpowering and threw a no-hitter.[5] The team name on Mr. Burns' jersey, the Zephyrs, is a reference to the Twilight Zone episode "The Mighty Casey", which features a team called the Hoboken Zephyrs. When Don Mattingly is forced off the team by Mr. Burns for "neglecting" to shave off his "sideburns," Mattingly privately states that he still preferred Burns to George Steinbrenner, the owner of the New York Yankees at the time. When Darryl Strawberry forces Homer to stay on the bench, Bart and Lisa jeer by repeatedly yelling "Darrrr-ull! Darrrr-ulll!, which is an allusion to a taunt Strawberry was subjected to during the 1986 World Series.
Daisy and Lincoln pick up Joey Gutierrez and Elena Rodriguez to assemble the Secret Warriors and save the rest of the team from Hydra. Meanwhile, Coulson and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on board the Zephyr have barricaded themselves inside a storage room. A team of Hydra agents try to break down the door so Lucio can incapacitate them with his Inhuman powers. Fitz pumps chlorine gas into the hallway leading to the room to hold off them off. The Secret Warriors break into Malick's base and split up to rescue them. Joey and Elena clear the way to the Zephyr, Daisy goes to the hangar's control room, and Lincoln finds and captures Gideon Malick. Lucio petrifies Lincoln when he moves Malick onto the plane, but Joey stabs Lucio through the heart with a piece of a metal pipe he melted. With the team secured, S.H.I.E.L.D. escape from the base in the Zephyr. As Giyera and the Hive watch the plane take off, the Hive assures his minion that this was not a total loss, as they now have someone inside S.H.I.E.L.D.
The team returns to the Playground. Coulson interrogates Gideon Malick, who reveals that the Hive killed his daughter and might have infected one of the Secret Warriors with his parasites, giving him complete sway over their actions. Although he has little reason to do so, Coulson believes Gideon Malick's warning and has Mack lock down the Playground. Coulson lets his human agents in on the situation, causing the Inhumans on the Secret Warriors to become concerned that S.H.I.E.L.D. has turned on them. Malick gives up everything he knows about the Hive when Coulson appeals to the memory of his daughter. Coulson is pulled out of the interrogation when FitzSimmons find evidence of the Hive's infection when they conduct an autopsy on Lucio, confirming what Malick said about the ancient Inhuman's abilities. As Coulson, Mack and May debate which of the Secret Warriors could be infected, the power to the Playground cuts out. FitzSimmons investigate a pulsating blue light coming from the interrogation room only to find Malick's corpse lying on the ground next to a splinter bomb.
Coulson's agents hurry towards the source of the explosion. The Inhumans demand to know what's going on, so Coulson orders Daisy to control her team until S.H.I.E.L.D. can figure out which of them is under the Hive's control. The Secret Warriors refuse to surrender to Coulson and barricade themselves in the Playground's common room. While Coulson's agents figure out what to do next, the Inhumans accuse each other of being the Hive's mole. Before their distrust of each other can get out of hand, Daisy tricks the team into going to the containment room by making them believe they were heading for a secret emergency exit. Coulson accuses Lincoln of working with the Hive because the Kree artifact he took from James was found in his locker when it should have been in the asset room. He thinks Lincoln was trying to get that to the Hive, and that he's been under his control since he saw Grant Ward in the Transia building. Lincoln denies Coulson's accusations and tries to escape, but Daisy pushes him into the containment unit with her powers. 041b061a72
